Oh. My. Gosh. If you're coming to Rotterdam for any reason please please take a water taxi. We took one while visiting on a cruise and it ended up being one of the highlights of the city. Simply put they drive it like they stole it! It was hilariously brilliant fun. The boats may look small and slow but they are quick and they drive them like it. Zipping across the water and throwing the boat into banking corners like it's nothing. We absolutely loved it and found ourself looking for excuses to get back on. The drivers were also super helpful and engaging. Absolutely one million percent recommended.
We used the Watertaxi a couple of times when we visited Rotterdam. Once to get from Kop van Zuid back to the city centre and the second time we booked one for a private tour of the Port of Rotterdam. As a Taxi it was a really fast, convenient and fun way to get from A to B.
The tour we did was even better, got to see all sides of the port in about 45 minutes and got a an idea of the enormous size and industry of the Port. Even got to see Jeff Bezos yacht and got to see what all the fuss is all about :-)
Both people at the phone, the docking station and the skippers were friendly and helpful.
Nice way to travel through the city! Easy to arrange and also available to book in advance. Fair priced. They get up to some great speed on the water, adding to the cool experience!
Fun, fast & efficient, Probably the most Bond like way of exploring the waterways and harbour area of Rotterdam and getting directly to many points of interest, good value & great fun too
Oh my, this was so much fun! Only €9 for 2 people to go from Hotel New York to the Euromast, and by speedboat it was really quick. Our driver on the way there was obviously enjoying his job and was a lot of fun. They came to pick us up about 10 mins after calling for a return trip. 10/10 will take this mode of transportation again.
Super cool. There is no better way to get from one spot to another. Why can't we have that anywhere in a city / river? I absolutely recommend it.
Great fun, goes very fast, bit expensive if you go with the familie where you pay per person. Alone it's great value. Do make a reservation online or go to the main office next to Hotel New York.
Advised stop Leuvehaven as you get 's bit of slow boating through the center
